Modernization of a water treatment plant Control System and digitalization of the distribution network Telecontrol System
The client had Omron automation and an outdated SCADA system for the water treatment stage, and only unattended data loggers for the water distribution stage. The project can be divided into two parts:
- Data acquisition: data integration from the Omron automation of the treatment plant and the Sofrel data loggers.
- Data exploitation: implementation of a modern and unified visualization and control system for both stages.
Challenges
Chosen technologies for the project minimized the challenges presented in the initial phases:
- Tight budget.
- Extraction of information from existing devices at each stage.
- Change in the operating procedures of users accustomed to the previous system.
